Time to return back to Indian culture and knowledge
Iam also deeply curious to know what Indian Education system was alike , because western Education system that is deeply ingrained in the psyche of every Indian today doesn't talk about the hollistic Education consisting of spiritual , physical and mental but it only talks about mental or materialistic education to achieve worldly pleasures . so , I have this authentic and curious content for the readers on Indian knowledge and Education Imparted by renowned philosophers ,Educators like Sri Aurobindo Ghosh , Osho and Pandit Shri Ram Sharma .
According to Sri Aurobindo
Real education provides free and creative environment to child to grow him mentally , morally and aesthetically and help to enhance its inner interest and creativity a finally leads to the development of his spiritual power .
seven principles of Integral Education
1) Nothing can be taught - All knowledge is within you . Information you get from outside , but the understanding of it ? It is from within . The information from outside gives you the dead matter what puts life into it is its your own inner light .
The word Education literally means'' to bring''.
2) The Mind has to be consulate in its own growth - The idea of hammering the child into the shape desired by the parent or teacher is a barbarous and ignorant superstition . It is he himself who must be induced to expand in accordance with its own nature Everyone in him something divine , something his own , a chance of perfection and strength in however small a sphere which god offers him to take or to refuse . The task is to find it develop it use it , have natural way of life that assimilates people of various cultures across the world .
3) To work from near to far - The basis of mans nature is almost always , in addition to his souls past , his heredity his surroundings , his nationality , his country the soil from which he breathes , the sound , sights , which he is accustomed .
"If anything has to be brought in from outside , It must be offered , not forced on mind.
4) Education has to be national -The fourth principle of education is that it has to be national , on the apparent level the concept of the national system may run counter the vision of the universal man of Sri Aurobindo . National Education implies the ability of the individual to examine cross national perspectives from the Indian point of view , Indian history and culture has a ample evidence to suggest that our country is one of the free countries of the world to national way of life that assimilates people of various cultures across the world .
5) strengthening the moral fabric of student - Human being is the free individual in that he has the power to do anything he desires , if his deeds has no moral support , he can undo whatever progress he have made in life.
Sri Aurobindo states '' The first rule of the moral training is to suggest and invite , not to command or impose .
6) pupils aesthetic nature has to be developed - It is the principle that brings in the concept of mental education , in an essay on mental education states that a true education of mind that which will prepare man for higher life has five phases -
1) Development of power of concentration
2) Development of capacities of expansion , wideness , richness .
3) organization of ideas around a central ideal or luminous idea that will serve as a guide in life ; thought control , rejection of undesirable thoughts so that one may , in the end think only what one wants and when one wants it .
4) Development of mental silence , perfect calm and more and more total receptivity to inspirations coming from the higher regions of the beings .
7 ) " Education be made spiritually Meaningful" - Also the present day education system because of its typical commercial slain has displaced many aspects of the education otherwise formed an integral component of the conventional Indian education .
Traditional values pertaining to culture , morality and spiritualism have been set to relegation and only academic activities which contribute towards the economic progress are promoted in the most of the contemporary Indian Education .
Also, this was similar perception of pandit shri ram sharma acharya .
In the vision of yugrishi taponisht Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is imparting knowledge in Indian culture and tradition therfore reinvigorating the youth to uplift their nation .
